I finally finished my first book of the year today, Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes. I didn't really like the book. It was like reading a how-to book on remodeling and restoring an old house, a travel book, and cook book with a little bit of novel thrown in. She didn't transition from one part to another very well. She also uses several Italian words throughout the book. Normally, this doesn't bother me, but she uses so many that at times I didn't know what she was talking about. I've seen the movie based on this book and this is one book turned movie where the movie wins.
