Friday Night Lights: RHS vs Dallas Skyline

Last night, the Richardson Eagles took on the Raiders of Skyline and fell to them 62-17. It's always hard going into a game like this against the top team in the district that is also one of the best teams in the area. I am glad that our players did not give up and played hard against them. We have two more weeks left in the regular season with a very slim chance at making the playoffs. I just hope our boys keep playing hard to finish out the season.

Season Record: 3-5 (2-3 in district)

Next week: RHS vs Richardson Berkner

Friday Night Lights: RHS vs Dallas W.T. White

On Friday, Richardson got a much needed win against W.T. White defeating the Longhorns 47-14. The team played a complete game in all aspects of the game and got the win. They'll need the confidence going into the last few weeks of the season as we have a tough last 3 weeks of the season. I hope the team keeps fighting hard and going for the "W".

Season Record: 3-4 (2-2 in district)

Friday Night Lights: RHS vs Lake Highlands

On Friday, the Eagles lost another tough battle falling to Lake Highlands 29-18. Once again, the defense kept the team in the game. We will definitely win more games if our defense keeps playing as hard as they have and if the offense can step up a little bit. There are four games left in the season and the team will have to fight hard to get into the playoffs, but I'm confident they can do it if they want it bad enough.

Season Record: 2-4 (1-2 in district)

Next week: RHS at Dallas W.T. White

Friday Night Lights: RHS vs Dallas Sunset

Last night, the Richardson Eagles won their Homecoming game against Dallas Sunset! The final score was 71-6 and it was good for all of the kids to get to play in this game. I did find myself rooting for Sunset a little as they struggled and when they scored their only touchdown, our fans erupted in cheers as if we had just scored. As much as any fan likes to see their team win, you can't help but feel a sorry for a team like Sunset and want to see them succeed. The Eagles will have to step up their game next week as they continue district play at Lake Highlands. We're at the halfway point in the season...let's finish strong!

Season Record: 2-3 (1-1 in district)

Friday Night Lights: RHS vs Richardson Pearce

Friday night was the big rivalry game against Pearce. Unfortunately, things didn't go our way and we lost 28-12. The defense played incredibly hard and kept us in the game. The game was still close early in the 4th quarter with a score of 14-12, but then the defense just got tired. The offense has a lot to work on this week as we continue district play. Hopefully, we can get things turned around this next week and get a "W" on Friday for Homecoming.

Season Record: 1-3 (0-1 in district)

Friday Night Lights: RHS vs Allen

Last Friday, the Richardson Eagles played the Allen Eagles. Playing one of the top teams in the state is always a little scary especially since their players are so much bigger than ours. (Side note: The size difference really baffles me. I mean, these kids are all the same age. What are they feeding those boys that they are so big?) Unfortunately, the game went about like we expected with RHS losing 52-7. Hopefully the team doesn't let the losses from the past two weeks get them down, they rest up this week with the bye week, and they come back fighting to start district next week. Let's go Eagles!

Season Record: 1-2

Friday Night Lights: RHS vs Frisco Wakeland

On Friday night for week two, Richardson played Frisco Wakeland. This game is fun since Josh's cousins go to Wakeland and play in the band. It's a nice 2-for-1 getting to see Josh coach and Ethan and Grant march in the same game. Unfortunately, the game didn't go our way and the Eagles lost 52-25. The boys kept it close for most of the first half, but then Wakeland broke it open. The team is definitely improved over last year and I think they will be a fun team to watch the rest of the season.

Season Record: 1-1
